Bio

Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Guido Sant'Anna began studying the violin at the age of 5 with the help of his family and later under the guidance of Marcia Fukuda Uhleman. At the age of 7 he made his first solo performance with an orchestra conducted by Maestro Julio Medaglia.

At the age of 8 he was a finalist in the Preludio Competition organized by TV Cultura.

In 2018 he was a finalist in the Menuhin Competition at the age of 12, winning Chamber Music awards and an audience award, which earned him invitations to perform in London (England), Gstaad (Switzerland) and Dubai (Emirates), as well as festivals in New York, Moscow and Madrid in addition to the loan of a Jorio 1833 violin from the Caris Foudation.

In September 2022 Guido won the 10th edition of the Fritz Kreisler International Violin Competition in Vienna at 17 years old.

Guido Sant’Anna is a Cultura Artística scholar, a student of Elisa Fukuda, and currently uses a Jean Battiste Vuillaume (1798 – 1875) violin, kindly provided by Luthier Marcel Richters.
